Jesus performed lots of miracles, from healing Jairus’s daughter to raising Lazarus from the dead. The thing is, He wouldn’t do these things just for the benefit of one person. He did them to draw others closer to Himself—the friends and family, the crowds, and eventually all of us who read the Gospels for hundreds and thousands of years later.
We hope and pray that Blessed Carlo is in heaven with God; his canonization is merely a formal recognition of this fact by the Church. It’s really more for our sake than Carlo’s, so he can be an inspiration and model for holiness to future generations as the patron of youth and computer programmers.
Please pray with us today not only for Amelia, but pray further that, through Carlo’s intercession, this miracle spreads the Gospel and brings others closer to Jesus.
Opening Prayer
Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, we thank you for all the grace and favors with which you enriched the soul of the Blessed Carlo Acutis during his 15 years on this earth. Through the merits of this Angel of Youth, grant us the grace which we earnestly seek, that Amelia be cured of her metachromatic leukodystrophy.
Meditation
“The only thing we have to ask God for, in prayer, is the desire to be holy.”
Blessed Carlo Acutis, you who have always asked God for what is essential, give us the grace of a deep desire for Heaven. Amen.
Pray five Our Fathers, five Hail Marys, and five Glory Bes to give thanks to God for the grace granted to Carlo in the 15 years of his earthly life.
Closing Prayer
Almighty God, Father of Mercy, raise your servant Blessed Carlo Acutis to the glory of the altars, so that through him you will be even more glorified. Give us the honor of counting him among the saints, for he lived in Your Will in all things. And through his merit, give us the grace that we so ardently desire.
Amen.
