Christmas morning has come and gone, and although we may never know why in this life, Amelia still suffers from her disease.
I used to have a bracelet with a passage from Job inscribed on it:
Where wast thou when I laid up the foundations of the earth? tell me if thou hast understanding.
We weren’t there when God made the world, and started his plan that would lead to the creation of humanity—eventually us individually. I got the bracelet not long after Amelia was diagnosed. It’s since been worn out. It’s been a long time.
We don’t know why He does what He does, or allows what He allows. We have to have humility, faith, hope, to forgive and be holy, in order to experience peace, love, and joy in eternity.
We have to thank God, even if we don’t understand why.
O Lord Jesus, we have specific requests that may only partially fill the infinite needs and desires that are in our hearts. We ask that You answer us not only for those requests but also for a greater reliance on You to satisfy the needs and desires that You have given us.
Please grant the prayers of all those who prayed this novena together. Bless them with Your love and make them holy!
May we seek You with a sincere heart knowing that it will profit us nothing if we gain the whole world yet lose our soul.
So help us to see Your good and gracious purpose in all our trials. Help us to see Your blessings in every day and help us to love You more.
Thank You for everything, Lord Jesus!

Continued prayers.
Merry Christmas!
